Decide on what your styling objective is?

Start by asking yourself these questions:
  • 1. Who are you presenting for ?
  • For example: Are you speaking to a group of high school students or an audience of high-powered executives?
  • 2 .What are you going to speak about ?
  • For Instance: Are you giving a formal presentation or an informal talk?

This will help you decide if you want to portray authority, seriousness, or an approachable look with your outfit.

1) Wear a Collared Shirt or blazer on the top

As your audience can only see you from the chest up, you should pay attention to what you wear. A collared shirt or blazer looks more grown-up, professional, authoritative and put together. It’s also flexible and versatile. If you need to be more formal? Layer a blazer over it

2) Add Accessories

As the audience can see only limited, pay attention to what is visible to them - this includes accessories.

  • Men - Add some stylish eyeglasses
  • Women - Add earrings, nail colour and lipstick

3) Zoom Background

There is no use if you are looking your best but the background is not neutral, i.e., too dark, multicolour, etc. Think of the background as a must-have accessory of 2021. People usually judge you by looking at your background. So, make sure that the background is supporting your message and should also reflect who you are. Some items to consider having in your background are potted plants or plant vases, framed pictures, favourite books, etc.Lastly, don’t forget to invest in good lighting like ring lights as lighting is crucial!
